Alec is the product of a government program, a human-cat hybrid made to be the perfect soldier/assassin. Also, he is Id-boy, and though he's lacking in most taboos and a lot of morals, he's not really a bad guy - just that his sense of right and wrong is kind of stretch at times. Also he's gotten a lot better, having been at Fandom once before, and having a bunch of people he could count on really helped him to start settling down a bit as well as adapt somewhat to human culture and societal norms.
But he left Fandom last September(ish), ostensibly to find out more about some rumors he'd heard regarding someone in his world being a serial killer matching Alec's physical description almost exactly. Turns out it was more than almost exactly - the serial killer was actually his clone-twin Ben, who had escaped Manticore before Alec even made a run for it and had suffered a psychotic break from the lack of support and guidance Manticore had given him.
While Alec was on his sabbatical, he hunted Ben down and managed to skirmish with him a few times, sometimes in a way that allowed Alec to interfere with Ben's latest victim, but Alec's fear of being recaptured by Manticore (a very real fear considering Manticore are also tracking Ben) as well as his small but talkative conscience ultimately made it difficult for him to just take Ben out once and for all. He chased Ben from the eastern seaboard, feeling conflicted about not helping his crazyflakes clone get some badly needed help (or just putting him out of his misery), but not enough to make himself a bigger target by removing the nice distracting newspaper headline that is Ben from Manticore's sights.
He also had this incident a couple months ago where he was possessed by a demon and came back to Fandom to wreak some havoc. Uh, he's sorry about that. Really.

Krycek-as-Fandom-alumni was a teenage clone of the adult Krycek (Oh X-Files, your canon makes some things so easy) who now resides in Marvel-verse (...yes), working for his boyfriend's father as an international courier. That boyfriend would be Jake Gavin Jr (courier_gavin), also alumni.
