for once, congrats to me. But... it made me realize why I do not like waking up before noon: there is nothing to do, no one around, and nothing on TV. I should probably go back to sleep

in 8th grade i liked this one guy for a whole year. of course my best friend knew the whole time. eventually, i had the courage to have my best friend tell him that i liked him, haha. she told him, and it turns out that he liked me too. then we dated. BUT. my best friend then told me that she had known a loooonnng time ago, but never told me. so i was pretty pissed, cuz that meant that we could've been going out a long time before that, and i was really mad that my best friend would not me tell me that he liked me, even though she knew that i really like him.

so from past experience, you are almost obligated to tell jane.

Jane is the one that may or may not like John, John definitely likes Jane. So do you mean the mutual friend should tell John if Jane likes him or not, or that the mutual friend should tell Jane that John likes her?
