I keep trying to help out, foster cats because every rescue agency has no space. But I'm in over my head now ( Read more... )

I don't know what to say. *siiigh* I'd love to foster dogs but I know I just can't at this point in my life - but I can imagine the headaches after reading your posts.

i'm sorry to hear it.

The first couple are idiots. That's what cats do

I'm sorry about lissy. My neighbors and I had a similiar failure this summer with a feral cat. We had her won over enough to pet her but when my cat went missing she reverted to her feral nature (I guess she tolerated us to be with him)

I tried to explain to the first couple that Stanley's behavior was 100% normal, and I got, "Well, our first cat never acted like that." For Pete's sake, Stanley was declawed and had no bad habits at all other than hiding. Fortunately, the intolerant couple will not attempt to adopt again.

I managed to get Lissy to crawl into the carrier on her own, and I sat with her on the front porch waiting for her ride to show up. I was glad she was hissing and growling at me-if she'd reverted to the crying like she'd done in the car trip to the vet, I would have snapped.

it's probably for the best about the couple

wish i knew how to help with Lissy

My SiL wants me to stop at the cat rescue lady's house over the holiday but i'm thinking do i want to drive 4 hours home when I could get one here with less of a drive (but this lady does it all on her own and I wouldn't mind helping her out)

And it NEVER ever occurred to them to either put up the wires or block of the back of the entertainment center?

It's a shame when the cat is smarter than the owner. :-b

I suggested keeping him in his air-conditioned room on the back porch where his litter box was, but apparently this was way too much effort for them.

Oh, that would have been FAR too much effort. I mean, they might have had to close the door. Think about what you'd be asking them to do.

**eyeroll**

I'm sorry about Hissy Lissy. That's so sad. :-(
