Official X Factor statement -

"Dannii made a joke about the lyrics of Danyl's song, referencing a recent newspaper interview he has given about his private life. She spoke to Danyl straight after the show, explained what she was talking about and he wasn't offended in the slightest. I don't for a second think Dannii had any right to say what she said joke or not, on the other hand people need to let it go. If Danyl is ok, then what's the problem? The fact that people are calling for Dannii to be sacked is ridiculous, yes she was out of order but she has apologised and everyone should move on.

I think all 3 of the judges - Louis, Cheryl and Dannii were purposely trying to put Danyl down last night just for the fact that they see him as a threat. The stuff that Cheryl and Louis were saying that "you're over confident", "you're becoming cocky" it's like what? I don't recall him ever coming across that way.

But yeah we just need to get over this now, it's stupid.

I think Danyl has been cocky at times, but actually last night I didn't think he came across that way, so I didn't agree with what Louis and Cheryl were saying. I think Danyl's a bit OTT with his reactions and he does over-think things, but last night he had a good stage presence and sang the song really well.

I feel bad for Dannii, this is clearly gonna get overblown and she just has no sense of timing. It was so awkward and blatantly the wrong thing to say but I still like her and I think it's ridiculous people are calling for her to be sacked and whatnot.

Leave Dannii alone,she said stupid thing,but hes a grown man and if he really want to be singer hes better be ready for that kind of things.And i dont think that it was just Dannii's comment that nearly made him cry,Lui and Cheryl didnt help eather/

OMG this has been blown totally out of proportion. Dannii's comment was taken the completely wrong way by the majority of people and now those people are busy being offended on someone else's behalf! Yeah her comment was out of place but that is about it!

I actually feel sorry for Dannii with the ridiculous witch hunt that has started in some areas of the internet.
