i agree with the scarring...i cut my wrist open on a nail head - 3 weeks ago...its only just started to heal, and the smallest graze has left an ugly scar. its only small, but its noticeable.
this is something that floats around the internet, it was shown on recoveryourlife.com (self harm help site). it wasn't really directed at anyone, it's just something that explains self injury so much. I get sick of people staring at my arms and dismissing me as another "emo" kid, because I may be emo but I never did it for attention (mum honestly believes that you know? that I would hurt myself for attention).
and I know so many people who are just starting to do it, or are kind of doing it and it breaks my heart because I know exactly what they are going to go through. with actually getting past the addiction of it (which you never trully do get passed. hell it's been like 18 months since I actually hurt myself at all and I still fight the stupid urges) and then once you get over the addiction, or learn how to control it people see the scars and either dismiss it or call you an attention seeker and heartless.
