You bring up some very good points, although I cant say I agree with everything you say. This whole everyone versus the scene people has been going on for awhile and as funny as some of the jokes that are poked at towards them may be, and as hard as it is to keep from laughing while they speak I dont see why we can't just respect each others own choice to "good music". But this isn't only about scene kids. It's also about those Lil' Jon's and Usher's and whatnot out there as well. As it is, music is a tool thats made to evoke emotion into people. Bob Marley's message wasn't always about going off to smoke a bowl. Billy Corgan message might be very similiar to any rap artists message just phrased with many (and i mean many) different words. I believe that what makes music "good music" is the way that person is, and by that I don't mean emo, scene, or any other stereotypical nametag pinned onto people. I'm talking about the way they were raised. The experiences that they happened to be a part of. I'm a singer of a band myself and what I ( ... )

i have no problem with good rap music or good country music. most of it is gimicky and the same thing, with different words. it gets tiresome. music as a whole now is 50000x worse than it was 20 years ago. its sort of sad.

i'm not saying anything of emotion, or lyrics. i'm talkng about the actual MUSIC. the band "anatomy of a ghost" has amazing lyrics, but their music leaves a lot to be desired. i'm talking more in terms of the whole package.

I see what you're saying, but sometimes the most simplest thing can be one of the greatest (just it hasnt happened too often during our lifespan so far heh)
