Mini review of le gig on monday night.
Mazarin
(Well just Quentin Stoltzfus... the rest of the band wasn't there, but he was great on his own and he had the worlds coolest beard. Mixture of pretty slow songs and then some really catchy guitary stuff)

The lovely Mr Stoltzfus (he really is lovely and I really do love his beard)
Devics
(- their band too, but they got a few members of the other bands out to play with them for some songs and Sarah has learned to play bass and she is great on the glockenspiel. Her voice forgives everything anyway [more people neeeed to hear the Devics]... it was so cosy and lovely and we were sat down on the front step of the stage while they were on)

Hot Club de Paris
(Hehe I love them, they're like The Futureheads only much happier and funny and just perfect. They come on singing harmonies and funny little lyrics before they start playing. Proper little showman and they're all rather nice looking too :D not that it matters of course *cough* anyway people who like bands like The Coral should give them a listen, they're from Liverpool too actually)

Howling Bells
(Wow, they were great. Juanita is really quiet and shy when she's talking but then when she sings her voice is absolutely stunning. They chugged through the set really quickly without any kind of talking or anything in between. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing. Maybe because they're pretty new to all this they like to get on with it, who knows. But yeah. The sound in the venue was really good too so they sounded brilliant. And they played Setting Sun which means I almost wet myself. Bought the lovely golden vinyl of Wishing Stone which is out on single now, so yeah gooooo buy it. And then vote to get it on the NME chartshow on MTV2 here:
