Why are some men...

Complete @$$holes? I swear, Friday was a day I wish never happened. As if I don't have enough reasons to utterly despise my mother's boyfriend, I'm given the ultimate reason to loath the bastard. I found out on Friday while meeting up with my mother, that this pathetic excuse of a male had the audacity to strike my mother! How did I find out? ( Read more... )

That was unacceptable. If he hit her once while he was drunk, he might do it again. I hope your mom will take legal action soon or at least somehow make him snap out of it to stop drinking so much.

first things first, she's moving into my apt. she's getting things packed and I have a storage room set. I have a couple of my friends on standby to help move items and furniture. She's speaking with his family about this issue, and Ilve already warned her that I will take actions if he even tries that crap again.

Luckily, that idea wasn't just mine. She decided to leave him after he hit her. So the kudos is really for my mother. However, there is no way in hall that I'll let her change her mind. I'll respect her decisions but not if her decisions put her in harms way. Heavens know I love my mother and that I will respect her & her decisions but I will draw the lines. She's an adult and I'll speak to her as an adult. And this isn't even an issue. Whether she decided to move in or not, after finding this out, there was no way in hell that I'm going to let her remain with him.

i'm sorry to hear about this. i don't understand how many men can just hit women like this. yes there are times when they damn well deserve it but only on extremely rare occasions. as for your mom, if she cheated or not, that isn't a good enough excuse to hit her. furthermore, being drunk is not a valid excuse either, its more of an issue. that issue won't go away as easy as your mom leaving that loser. do your best to keep your mom away from him. that's the most you can do until your ready to call the police. (which you should have done, imo) take care of her.

Same here. Real men don't hit women or children unless there is a valid reason and they sure as hell don't make excuses for taking such actions when based on a valid reason. The only one cheating in that relationship was, is, and will always be him. I can say this since I know his type of character ( ... )
