It is never easy for someone to just "move on" from their past. It never will. Truth is, everyone judge a person base on what he/she did in the past. Also, people are always gonna be emotional. We root for our friends and ppl we love. Just like from reading your previous entry it made us really mad at that bastard. We don't need to meet him nor do we need to witness anything. We root for you that's it, no question asked. That is how things work in a circle of friends.
There is no "easy way out". Never there is an easy way out. But there are many ways to move on. I mean, criminals who spent their past 10 years in jail are able to move on with their life. It is all about their attitude and how they resolve the matter.
I can't put it in better words than Andy's statement. It is true that people not present can only go by their friends testimony. But this applies to both condemning and defending parties. Hey I would defend my friends weather they are right or wrong too.
Truth is, real life is more complicated than ideology. An example would be, if someone throws a party, their long time friends are gonna be uncomfortable with an individual. What would they do? Please understand the delicacy of the situation.
It is very difficult at times to ignore events that were told to you by the people you care about, regardless of the fact that you may not have been there to actually witness it. Furthermore, when others you care about have additional separate complaints about the perpetrator, it only brings you closer to believing what had happened was more towards fact than just gossip. When the perpetrator writes an apology letter that you read, then you can only come to the conclusion that he/she did commit the crime; therefore judging that individual based on circumstantial evidence is appropriate. Yes, it may be difficult for everyone to move on but in most cases, the victim will suffer more than the perpetrator
