An experiment in comic poetry.
'Verse: 4. Also, 616
Characters: Jean, Xavier, whatever the plural of Magneto is, and Summers
Rating: G
Word Count: 100
Chocolates: Nate Grey. Do they even know he's dead?
The Phoenix turned into a loon,
The power was too much, too soon.
Destroying a planet,
She just couldn't stand it,
And so Jean Grey died on the moon.
A mutant named Charles once went mad.
Mindwiping his friend made him sad.
Suppressing the guilt,
A monster he built,
Unleashing Onslaught was his bad.
Magneto has several doubles.
Keeping them straight causes trouble.
There's Joseph the clone,
And Xorn the unknown,
Their stories leave readers befuddled.
The Summers are sprawling and vast,
They make up half the X-cast.
His mutant descendants
Scott spawns, unrepentant,
In days both future and past.
A poet who reads his verse in public may have other nasty habits.
