Ahhhhhh! Friday couldn't be any better, well besides the fact that school was blah, and some certain thing happened. Let's just fastfoward to the good part. It was finally the day of the Boys Like Girls, All Time Low, The Audition, and We the Kings concert after 2 months of getting the tickets. So afterschool, I went to buy sandwiches at the market for our dinner to eat in line. When 7th period let out, Diana had to walk all the way around the school cause the stupid people locked the doors cause of the bell game. Yeah so I waited about 10 minutes til she came and then we went to her house for like 10 minutes too? Got ready, got in the car, and we were on our way! I felt like a crazy woman trying to hole punch and tie ribbon around our scrapbook for All Time Low. When I'm under pressure I get nervous. We got there like in 20 minutes and we got dropped off about a block away from venue. There was already a kinda long line..and it was so obvious everyone there wasn't from our city. Everyone came from out of town. But anyway... Interesting things happened while in line. Hobos came up and asked for money/donations, bikers in halloween costumes passed by every few minutes, and girls were talking about weird stuff. Danny from The Audition (which I didn't know at the time) walked back and forth like about 3 times and no one noticed except Diana. She says she could have sworn that was him, but I didn't even know how he looked so I wouldn't have known. So around 5:15 we decided to eat our sandwiches...yum. Then at 6, they started letting people in. I was surprised that happened on time. Okay well while in line, some lady came up and passed out Tourzilla posters and told us to hold it up and take a picture with other girls. I don't know where that picture is ending up, but I'd like to see it...someday. Got in and security person said no sharpies, so I had to give it up. That reminds me, I forgot to get it back, oh well...not that important.
Once we got in, we immediately headed for the merch booth and there was too many shirts to choose from. I ended up buying a turquoise Boys Like Girls shirt and a black All Time Low shirt, both being $50. Totally not worth it, but I wasn't going to regret not buying a shirt...besides they're rare. Went to the stage area and there was already a crowd. I guess we were in the middle. Waiting took forever, it was boring, and some stupid people kept pushing their way to the front. At 7, the lights dimmed, everyone screamed, and We the Kings came out. I didn't know any of their songs, but now I might start listening to them. People in front were moshing... It was a pretty short set, about 5 or 6 songs? Then a 10-15 intermission of boredom again...People kept moshing even though there was no music, I don't get it, do you? Then the lights dimmed, people screamed and The Audition came out. They sang “You've Made Us Conscious", and newer songs and "Don't Be So Hard" (my favorite). Martin Johnson even came out and sang the end of the song with them, it was awesome! Another intermission before All Time Low comes out... This time we were both excited, got our cameras ready, and anxious for them to hurry up and start. The lights dim and ATL comes out playing music and Alex announces the band and they start off with "Dear Maria, Count Me In." I was recording for about 15 seconds until the stupid security dude taps me on the shoulder and says "NO RECORDING!" I was like wteff in my mind...No flash, and no recording? AHH..that sucks. I don't know the exact order, but they sang "Six Feet Under the Stars", "Jasey Rae", "Coffeeshop Soundtrack", "Let It Roll", "Stay Awake", and "The Girl's a Straight Up Hustler" and I think that's it? I don't remember when, but Alex says "San Francisco has the sexiest crowd ever. I would have sex with all of you if that was possible." and Jack goes "Condom-free" or something like that. They also said "Let's applaud for Rian for wearing pants the first time in his life." Then sometime Jack said "I'm Jack, I'm 19, and..." The rest is disturbing, so I'll leave it out. Alex says “Let’s get a mosh circle here!” Then during "Stay Awake", Alex stops singing right in the middle of the song, and says "Stop! I want all of you to repeat after me and I want everyone to sing it when I tell you." He sings "You ain't the only ones who wanna live it up, you ain't the only ones!" The crowd repeats it after him a few times, then he says "You're ready, lets do this." or something... Then he starts singing again and the band plays and when it gets to that part, the whole audience is singing "YOU AIN'T THE ONLY ONES WHO WANNA LIVE IT UP, YOU AIN'T THE ONLY ONES!" It was awesome. Then at some point, Alex picks a girl from the audience, brings her up on stage, and says that she can watch the rest of the set from backstage, that lucky butt. During the last song "The Girl's a Straight Up Hustler", Alex stops in the middle of the song again, and says "Stop the music! I want everyone to squat down. I want everyone of San Francisco to squat down, and when it starts, jump up as high as you can!" I don't know the exact words, okay? But dude I have a pretty good memory. Their set ends after that and its sad, but at least Boys Like Girls will be coming out later. Finally, after the longest intermission, music plays, lights shine, and Boys Like Girls come out and sing "HeroHeroine" This time we were packed more like sardines, and I don't remember how many times I stepped on the guy's feet behind me or how many times someone stepped on my feet. This annoying girl's arm kept rubbing against mines and people had some serious BO. Anyway, I don't remember the set list, but here's what they sang. "Five Minutes to Midnight", "Heels Over Head", "Dance Hall Drug", "You, Me, and My Medication", “Broken Man”, “Let Go” and a snippet of “Buy You a Drank”. OMG, Diana and I exchanged disturbed looks cause everyone practically knew the song and danced to it like ghetto people. During "Thunder", the rest of the band left and Martin had his solo. He told everyone to get our cell phones out and the turn all the lights off. It was pretty cool. The rest of the band came out near the end, and it was just one of the best. The last song, of course was "The Great Escape." Martin said "We have one more song, and no encores...nothing. I want everyone to jump and have fun!" I turn to my right and see a girl trying to crowd surf, but no one really lifts her up and she falls right onto the floor. People see if she’s okay and a few seconds later, she gets up with such poise and gives a big smile with a rock sign like nothing affected her. I was laughing, but anyway, the show was great and unforgettable, but sadly it had to end around 10.
We pushed our way to the merch booth again cause Diana wanted to buy an ATL poster. We see these crazy girls waiting in the rotunda area and Paul is there and then Alex comes out. Security says that we have to either leave or get in line to buy stuff, or else they’d make us get out. Whatever…Then we got in line, which was out the door! I was questioning whether to get something else … There were seats in line, and security says, “If you’re buying something, you can’t be sitting down!” What’s the difference if the seats are still in the same area as the line? That was stupid. We get to the front and I decide to get a grey/white striped BLG shirt; I really like the design/colors. So by that time it was about 10:30. We went outside and Diana screams out “There’s Rian!” and I’m like “WHERE?!” Okay, I’m blind and have a slow reaction, so let’s just keep that in mind. We get there and Rian’s signing autographs for a group of girls surrounding him. He says be right back and goes back into the venue. He comes out a couple minutes later and some point he says “My girlfriend’s going to kill me.” I guess probably for not calling at the time? We give him the scrapbook. Diana says “You have to look at it now.” And he says “Now? When you’re here?” YES, duh. flipped through it, and said “Whose writing is this?” and I said “Oh, that’s mine’s” and he like “Woah, that’s nice.” Wee. He liked the 3-D stickers (Good thinking Diana =D) and then he flipped to our license plate page and said “Woah, how did you get that?” Cause his name is spelled with an I instead of a Y and so it’s rare to find that. Diana says we spent money for that or something and he says “Don’t tell me; I’ll feel bad.” (Aww) He gives us each a hug, and in fact, a pretty long one and says “Thanks so much” and he said that a couple of times. We ask for his autograph(s) and to have a picture with him. Some girls standing who were waiting took our picture with my camera, then Diana’s. My hair was fugly but whatever, all that matters is that we got not only one, but 2 pictures with him. Then we say bye and thank you and we leave to the tour bus area. Diana reminds me and asks if I gave him the friendship bracelets, and so she runs back to Rian. At first I thought that he says “Thank you” and slips it into his pocket, but then Diana tells me later that Rian said “I love the colors” and then slips it onto his wrist? She says it was a perfect size for him. That’s good cause I made it a manly size =P I hope the other guys wear it and like film it or something cause I wanna see them wear what I made. =)
We walk to the tour buses and see a group of girls waiting around. Diana sees Paul but a second after we get there, he says he has to go and gets back into BLG’s tour bus. Diana asks to take a picture with Travis from We the Kings, he says “Sure” and I took the picture. We see Jack but he seems in a rush and has to leave, but manages to take a picture with Diana. Then he runs back into the venue like a crazy man. Zack comes out and a group of girls are surrounding him. They ask him to talk on the phone with their friends who couldn’t make it and wow, how nice of him. He was awkward, but funny. Diana had him sign all of her stuff and the members are always amazed by how much stuff she has lol and always ask what she’s going to do with all of it. =P She gets a picture. She asks if he’s still with that girl from MTV’s Exposed, and he said “No, that show is the fakest show ever.” or something…I remembered the exact quote on Friday, but I forgot it now. Then I ask him to sign my SWIR booklet and my ATL shirt. I get a picture too. =) Then we see Danny from The Audition. We stand behind him because he is facing the wall with a bunch of girls surrounding him. Diana felt like poking him to get his attention, lol. So yeah he turns around and sees her stuff and says “Wow, this is old school stuff!” From their first EP or something… I take a picture of them, cute. And then we go back to Zack and he is trying to inch away from the crowd, lol. It was funny. If I could put a thought bubble at the moment, it would be “Why isn’t anyone noticing I’m trying to leave?” Lol, then Diana talks about how skinny his pants are, and they are super skin tight actually. We wait cause she says she doesn’t want to leave without meeting Alex. So Travis jokingly knocks on the door and yells out for Jack and Alex. Alex comes out a few minutes later, and everyone lets out a “fan girl scream.” Some girl had Alex do a “thizz face” and it was cute, haha. Then Diana went up and asked for his autograph and picture. He held up my camera…(wee) the first shot was too close, and you could only see the top of Diana’s head and Alex’s lips/facial hair, lol. He took another one and Alex says “It’s cute.” She then tells him it was her birthday the day before and asks him to sing to her. He yells out for “Vinnie!” and says “Hold on.” Diana thinks he was leaving her, but no, just getting some guy named Vinnie to sing with him. I start recording and they snap and do their thing and sing Happy Birthday to her, some girl sneaks up behind them and gives the camera a funny face, then runs away. Another girl annoyingly sings CHA CHA CHA and when it got to the part “Dear Diana!”, Vinnie didn’t know her name, so Alex says “You f***ed up.” Hehe, they finish and everyone claps and I get footage of Diana smiling like woah. =D She gets a hug from Alex and then we leave. We see Rian talking on his cell (probably with his gf) and we didn’t say bye. =( But he looked up and smiled. What a lovely night. My dad calls me and picks us up and we take Diana home. On our way there we talk about the funny things they said and watch the video of Alex and Vinnie singing. I wasn’t that excited before Friday, but it was one of the best days ever and I won’t forget it. I hope to see ATL again soon and hope they remember us from the scrapbook and bracelets. I’m still excited after typing this! THE END. ~
