Name: Rockman X [Mostly referred to as X, and also known as the Blue Bomber or Commander X of the Maverick Hunters 17th Unit]
Age: Unknown/Roughly 100 years
Gender: Built as a male
Species: Android
Sexuality: Questionably asexual/bisexual

Appearance: In armor, X is quite the sight to behold - not nicknamed the Blue Bomber for nothing, his armor is colored in varying shades of blue and light green, and the bodysuit beneath is a deep blue as well. In the middle of the forehead of his helmet is a red gem, and his green eyes constantly seem determined, the wavering soul beneath hidden when he fights.

Out of armor, though, he could easily pass as a normal human boy. Unlike Dr. Light's robots, his joints aren't seen through his pale synthetic skin, and so he appears as a perfectly normal, happy teenage boy. He also looks extremely innocent as well - without the sharp curve of his helmet, X's eyes are large and childish, and his dark brown hair falls into a slightly shaggy, bedhead style. He can most often be seen smiling, wanting to keep both himself and the people around him as positive as he can, a trait not only developed out of his gentle, pacifistic personality but something necessary to keep his sanity as unfrayed as possible during the long battles of the Maverick Uprises as well.

Personality: It can almost be said that X possesses two personalities in himself, one that he normally displays, and the other which only few ever see. His dominant personality is not developed only through the years he spent in routine checkups in Dr. Light's capsule, it's also a sort of defense mechanism he developed to protect himself from the emotion and mental wearing wars he's constantly forced to involve himself in. X is kind and gentle to the core of his being, a strong-hearted pacifist who hates fighting but fights for the need to protect the peace he so longs to see come to fruition, almost a walking contradiction. He is generally happy and willing to help anyone in need, and despite his home surroundings retains a strong sense of optimism and naivete which can sometimes cause him to fall for tricks and traps he could have otherwise easily avoided. He's also a bit of a reserved and withdrawn person, not one to usually reach out to others, and this causes him to have only a few close friends and many acquaintances. This was developed from the years he spent alone with Dr. Cain, and it's why he's quite attached, almost obsessively so, to his best friend and closest partner Zero.

When he fights though, the recessive personality comes out, and he becomes the hero that everyone sees - a fighter who's unafraid to sacrifice himself for the greater good and will fight for all who can't. When in 'Hunter mode', X can have a tendency to become quite easily angered, despite his normal kind and patient self, and fly off the handle at times. In this way he becomes a force to be reckoned with not only in firepower, but in personality as well. He leaves behind his pacifistic views in favor of eliminating the threat as fast as possible - the mission he was created for all along. It's in these moments that it becomes easy to remember that, despite his usual demeanor and his pacifistic ways, that he was intentionally built as the last weapon to protect the humans from all dangers that the future may bring them.

Beneath these layers is a lost and confused being, who questions his motives, the war he fights in, and his ability to stay sane under the conditions and pressure placed upon him constantly. He simply wishes for peace for both humans and Reploids, and that wish oftentimes is the only driving factor that allows him to continue to fight the wars against Sigma.

Abilities/Strengths: X is gifted with several capabilities - he can dash and hover using the jets in his boots, and use his buster to not only fire pure plasma, but charge it as well to create larger shots to cover more range and deliver more damage. He is also able to, after defeating an enemy, copy their weaponry to use as his own. He can also cling and slide on vertical walls, and use an ability called the Triangular Jump, which allows him to scale a wall by jumping up it. He can teleport from place to place in an instant, allowing him to be anywhere within a moment's notice as long as he knows the coordinates. He is also, as the variable in his name indicates rather well, capable of infinite growth, whether it be mental and emotional growth just like any other human or growth as a walking weapon, in armaments and armor.

His heart, despite him being a machine, allows him to empathize with others and see situations from their point of view, and understand them. He has natural leadership skills, having the experience from being a commander in the Hunters, and can keep his cool in most situations, enabling him able to give sound advice to others when it's needed. There's also the fact that he's an android, and therefore can store away and recall all sorts of memories and events forever unless someone happens to mess with them, as well as be rebuilt time and time again if it's needed as long as his control chip is in tact and one has, and understands, his schematics.

Weaknesses: X's biggest weak point is his naivete. He is extremely trusting, and thus has the tendency to be betrayed easily and find it harder to fight those who have backstabbed him, despite it. Unless it's blatantly obvious that someone isn't a good person, he'll trust just about anyone to some degree. He also has a massive guilt complex, and the tendency to second-guess himself a lot, though these facets of his personality are usually hidden to avoid burdening anyone. And thus he has the tendency to bottle his feelings, as well, until he can't take it anymore and eventually tends to take it out on others when he doesn't mean to. He has the tendency to fly off the handle when someone does manage to anger him, though he's slow to anger and quick to calm, and will apologize profusely for such behavior afterwards. There's also the fact that, even though it was indirectly, he was part of the reason Mavericks came about in the first place, being the one being all Reploids are based off of, and he constantly has to live with the guilt of that.

Technologically wise, X's dash capabilities can't be used everywhere - his jets are extremely powerful, and thus will usually rend the surface he's dashing on in some way. He tends to limit the use of it due to this, because most of the time it would turn up as more of a disadvantage to him to use it than not in the long run of the battle.

History: Dr. Light's final masterwork - a machine with the ability to think and feel for itself, to make decisions on its own, and not be limited by anything but its own emotions and emotional strength. An android, who would become the fighting hope for the future. He was named Rockman X, after Dr. Light's first creation, the robot Rockman, and the mathematical variable x - representing not only limitless potential and possibilities, but limitless dangers as well. Sealed away in a capsule for thirty years to test his integrity and loyalty, Dr. Light left a warning for no one to open the capsule until X's testing had finished and he passed away. X was left to slumber in his capsule, undisturbed for one hundred years, long after his testings had finished. He was eventually found by Dr. Cain and awakened, living with the scientist as both a helper and a research subject.

Together, the two created the Reploid [short for 'Replica Android'] race, based off of X's own unique designs. This was something they would, perhaps, come to deeply regret some day.

The Maverick virus arose, infecting Reploids and causing their systems to go berserk, and X joined the Maverick Hunters to join in the fight against the ex-Hunter Sigma who was infected and attempting to lead the Mavericks to a new "golden" era - a world where humans were nonexistent and the Reploids ruled the Earth. With his new partner, Zero, X fought six wars against Sigma and his Mavericks - the first in which a mistake caused him to lose Zero, and forced him to fight a gang of Mavericks named the X Hunters for his parts and fight a copy of Zero that had been created. He lost Zero in the Fifth Uprising as well, when he and Zero suffered near fatal injuries from Sigma's final attack - though he later learned that Zero had simply gone into hiding to repair himself.

He's fought many enemies - various, countless Mavericks, Sigma, Gate - who, along with Isoc and High Max, caused the Nightmare incident in which a 'ghost' of Zero was spreading the Zero Virus and causing Reploids to go Maverick - the X Hunters, the Reploid mercenary Dynamo who had teamed up with Sigma to cause the Eurasia crash, Double who had infiltrated the Hunter base in the Fourth Uprising to lead X astray from his true target, the Zero Nightmare, and many others. And among these Mavericks, he got a taste of their psychosis for himself - sometime during the wars he was infected with a strain of the Maverick Virus called the Limited Virus, which occasionally caused him to black out and become a heartless murderer in battle. But he fought it off, and the being that had formed from both the strain and his negative emotions that called itself Irregular X, or simply iX.

And the fight still isn't finished. On the brink of the Seventh Uprising, X, sick of the fighting, retired from his position within the Maverick Hunters to seek more peaceful alternatives to end the fighting. Finding none, and finding a new life in his reason to fight, X had just been about to return to the battlegrounds when he suddenly found himself in a new city...
