It had been as normal of a day as any for me, I walked through the bustling crowd at the Quidditch Pitch, unnoticed but all. I was here to get another article, and I hated every minute of it. I knew enough about the game to get by on, but if someone asked me the name of a move or defense mechanism I was completely lost. I had stopped trying to converse with anyone aside from the player I was interviewing and the game in general. Today I was to interview Oliver Wood, for the Most Eligible Bachelor in Witch Weekly.
I hated doing this, mostly because I felt like a bother. Bugging someone like Oliver with silly things like this and surely he wouldn’t remember me. I was just a fourth year when he graduated. He knew nothing about me. I was just Lavender Brown, “The Girl That Gossiped Too Much”. Well that gossiping did earn me this job, and I couldn’t argue with it because the pay was great.
After the game I walked down to the changing rooms, and told the team Coach who I was looking for. He knocked loudly on the door, “Wood, are you decent?” He shouted into the room, a muffled reply was thrown back. “He’ll be out in just a moment.” I nodded my head and waited, checking to make sure I had my list of question. I didn’t have to wait long before the door opened and Oliver walked out in a pair of tan muggle slacks and a white muscle shirt on.
My eyes raked over his body, lingering on his chest before moving up to his face. It had changed since Hogwarts, it looked better. He was more handsome in person than in the photographs of him, and they weren’t bad either. “Hullo, Oliver.” I said, smiling softly.
“Hi,” was his short reply, with a curt nod of his head.
“I’m-“
“Lavender Brown,” he said, cutting me off with an all knowing smile on his face.
I nodded my head, biting my lip softly, he knew who I was.
