This is not a good Friday it’s a bad Friday. Or, Very Bad Friday. One could even make a case for Most Fucked Up Friday Ever ( Read more... )

I agree. I often think the same about death. We get so emotionally upset when our loved ones pass away. If we all were true Catholics and had faith in the lords word which is the bible would we not be happy that a person we love will now be with god in eternal bliss and happiness?

Just the random things I think about.......

Yeah, there are definitely times when I get all caught up in the whole "it's better to be dead" mindset. From a religious perspective it would certainly seem that way. It's almost surprising that more extremely religious people don't find some way to die and escape to whichever paradise awaits on the other side. If nothing else, death will be a relief from a lot of the suffering that goes on here.

But, grief is really sort of a selfish thing. Not that it's bad, but that it's not really about what the deceased has lost as it is about what we have lost. We won't ever see them again or enjoy their company. They're just memories and there will be no more chances to make new ones. I think anytime we lose something that we were expecting to enjoy, we go through a grieving process.
