["Why has the sun stopped shining? It's so dark outside...what happened to it?"]
Nippon. The realm beneath the Celestial Plain. It was covered in dense and beautiful forests, lakes, temples, but there is a layer of thick darkness overwhelming it. Above, the sun is waning. As the sun wanes, so does an image of Amaterasu, flickering back and forth. Her fur that was once clothed in brilliant white light, is fading. The red markings are dimming as well.
There are voices. Rushes of them. Too many for a mortal mind to bear.
[My crops can't grow without the sun. Should I have offered to that temple this year?]
Amaterasu whimpers in her sleep, pawing at the ground. There is pain in her howling.
[Have the gods abandoned us? And what happened to Snowy? ]
Great, glowing white beasts appear in the wolf's mind; shining with a light that is too great for the eyes, but the outlines are vaguely visible.
[ Holy Mother Okami Amaterasu..where are you? Why won't you save your children?]
The wolf whimpers loudly, pawing at the ground again as she growls. Above the glorious beasts, a glowing black sphere is blocking out the sun, causing the projection of herself to fade ever so slightly. Amaterasu snarls and paws at the ground.
[Furball? Furball?]
This voice tugs at the Goddess' heart. She knows that voice. Loves that voice. It's the voice of Issun, her 6th Celestial Envoy. He hasn't realized it yet, but he will--if she gets there in time to save them--
(She whines a bit more, because she will save them. She will save them all so she can eat cherry cakes with the Elders, play with the children, feed the wild beasts along Ryoshima Coast..make the Cherry Trees bloom for the next Festival..)
The black sphere blots out the sun, and so too, does Amaterasu fade.
[Ammy, hurry up. You have to get the sun shining again...]
