OMG! What a beautifully turned out little tale. I did wonder if the junkyard man was Bobby because I wasn't sure if he is in South Dakota.

The witch came in as a surprise though, and I love how Dean stands between Alice and the witch, being the protector that he is.

I love the tender moments esp the last bits.

That was actually one of the hardest things I wrote - a proclamation that showed how he felt without being OOC.

Dean doesn't have very many tender moments so when they come they are even more precious.

I read this again *grins* and just have to ask, what was in the small box which Alice pulled out of Dean's duffel bag? I'm afraid that I missed that connection altogether.

I finally got caught up on this story, and I love it so far! It has a coming-of-age feel, and the narration style is lovely.

As for Alice, you've done it again -- I must bow to your brilliant OFCs. ;) She has such vivid characterization, and I enjoy her interactions with not only Dean but Sam as well.

I'll definitely be looking forward to the next chapter of this! :)

I was actually worried more about this story than anything I've posted because of the narrative style. I actually have to force myself not to edit it more than once because, otherwise, it'll sound too polished.

I have no idea where this girl came from, except to say that it's probably the same place in my brain that spawned College!Dean. Seriously. Before I decided I was going to do the Big Bang (which I never finished, obviously), I wrote the first section and she was just there.

I'd actually say it's more luck than brilliance. ;-P
