(1) I've found the best amount of overlap (for me) tends to be about 2 weeks. I still hurt mentally & physically at the end, and I still end up taking days off of work, but it gets complete to a reasonable extent within that time.

(6) While shame can be a powerful force for good (or at least broad societal acceptance), I think I should point out that most people that I've moved (myself inclusive) have had some degree or another of this. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

(20) If there's anything that doesn't fit, there's always the Emergency Last Minute Goodwill and/or Craigslist Consignment. That's how we ditched our portable dishwasher.

Do you guys need to borrow a dolly, or are you set?

I am actually completely moved now. I have no idea what Jer needs...he actually had a hairbrained scheme of physically carrying everything from his apartment to the new one, because it's ONLY 4 miles away.
