Happy Things!
I kind of fell off the boat yesterday and forgot I was doing this...so here I go!
(1) Went to go visit my brother at college with my parents today. How does a kid grow up in 6 weeks like that? He's more confident, seems happier and more talkative, and it was just all around cool. We ended up making plans to go up to Canada some weekend soon so I can teach him about good beer without facing the wrath of Minor in Possession and Supplying a Minor laws.
(2) Found out that my brother and I have some things in common that I didn't know about, like a love for good tea and an appreciation for a certain category of nonfiction books. Not only will this make buying gifts easier, it'll make starting conversations easier.
(3) Learned that I like Target's brand of sunflower seeds much better than David brand, because David brand is far saltier. This may not SEEM like a happy thing, but it is, because the Target brand is cheaper and is easier to find :)
(4) Found what will make an AWESOME reception dress for a rather awesome price, and am going to be setting aside my extra money from LensCrafters to get it. I'd link it, but I think I'd rather have you all wait to see. :P
(5) I am starting to get excited about my NaNo this year, and even though I'm a little bummed that I'll be in Florida on the kick-off night, I'll be doing nothing but sitting in the (hopefully) sun on the causeway at NASA waiting for a shuttle launch the next day, so I foresee getting a LOT of words done. :D I've got a magic system I'm content with, a couple characters I like, and a Big Bad Problem to solve. I'm stoked.
