I KNOW, RIGHT? I'm in ur country, messin with ur pharaoh! It's gotta piss someone off.

Also, thank you, because this was really fun to write and I'm not sure what that says about me. I was a little afraid everyone would look at it and run screaming.

Wow, soooo creepy and yet mostly calm, atmospheric and what a great setting, and YAY GODS, and those last lines especially - and touched the skin and nothing beneath - wow. this is beautifully written.

Thanks so much--I really love getting stream-of-consciousness feedback. It's great to get a little glimpse of what you're thinking, and as always, I appreciate the note. :)

OKAY. OKAY. THIS IS PRETTY MUCH EXACTLY THE SORT OF THING I'VE WANTED FOR CAS-URIEL BACKSTORY!!! INCLUDING AN EXPLORATION OF HOW FUCKING ARROGANT IT IS OF THESE ANGELS' GOD TO STOMP IN AND DO THAT SHIT AND THE HUMAN COSTS AND

LJFLJLSDFSDGDSFFG;;;;
"So many sacks of mud," Uriel said, but he touched its forehead once in blessing, his finger gentle as he tucked the child's hair behind its ear. "Risen, and returned.""
OH GODDDDD

And Castiel's unease, his disconnect - oh god the last paragraph makes me want to weep - it's gorgeously, gorgeously done.
"He knew the light, and knew the dark also, and neither felt like home."
NFFFFFFFF YES THIS IS HIM YES THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF HIM, ISN'T IT?

I need to reread this at least a dozen times just to soak in the richness of this story, and just. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

I am SO GLAD you liked it and were not Ummmmm drowning babies srsly? and backing away slowly. BECAUSE IT WAS ALL YOUR FAULT. I mean, there are these angels, right, and for them a long time is a LOOOOOOONG time, and then I started slashing Cas/Uriel in my brain and it was all over. Seriously, all over.

What I've always liked about Cas is that he's not totally sure he's on the side of right, or, maybe, he can see right ways that aren't his. THIS IS DEF HIS BEGINNING. He is like that guy in the picture sticking daisies in guns, except first he was a soldier and he still doesn't know what side he's on. ANGELIC PTSD, yo.

You are so welcome. Never would've gone here without you, so take credit where credit's due, lady.

OH OH

You've packed SO MUCH into so few words and it's just BLISTERING and heartbreaking.

Soldiers far from home and brothers in arms trying to make sense of everything my heart my heart.

ANDD URIEL! Sacks of mud oh YES. <333 Perfect

You're amazing.

They keep trying to follow orders but their orders are from this EFFED UP ABSENTEE USURPER GOD. It is no good, but they are made of good, and Cas is on the first step to a long-ass lifetime of mental issues.

ALSO, now I hardcore want Cas/Uriel fic, and I believe it does not exist.

Shut up, YOU'RE AMAZING, obvs. :D
