furnace broke!

waiting for the repairman now.

the weird thing is, my brother and sister-in-law in Virginia had their furnace go today as well. how's that for freaky?

got the ceramic heater going in the basement to keep the temp in Puff friendly levels.

At least when my furnace broke in October it wasn't nearly as cold as it is now. You, on the other hand... *winces*

I'm a little worried about you and Deb getting icicles on the ends of your noses, so I hope it gets fixed tonight! I'll cross my fingers.

the repairman is here.

there was a (dead) robin in there - apparently we need a screen over the exhaust. he said that they go there for warmth and pass out from the fumes...

Yikes. Still in the deep-freeze temps over there? We've been getting up above 0 the past few days.

Had a sparrow do that in the dryer vent once. Poor little things. Hope you guys stay warm.

14 degrees - with a 5 degree wind chill.

it didn't get too bad before he came. kinda gross, and we definitely need to get a screen up there ASAP.

I'm glad we didn't have to hear the robin's death throes - we are hoping that it never woke up after passing out.

a boa constrictor? now THAT would have weirded me out for ages...
