Well well well. The US Government isn't even trying to hide its hypocrisy and stupidity anymore (or maybe it hasn't caughty on yet).

Part of an interview by America's Fox News with General George Casey of the US Army was just shown on ABC news. Apparently Zarqawi didn't die immediately, and there were allegation US soldiers beat him to death:

Zarqawi was a monster, and in terms of karma this was well-deserved. Maybe this is one of those times where you can be liberal with the moral rules. The ends justifies the means and all that... or maybe not.

oh.. well i wouldn't disagree with that at all.. from what i've heard, the world is a better place without him and he should be dead.

I just don't get how they can say, with a straight face, they were trying to save his life after they just (intentionally) dropped a bomb on him.

They've probably come to the realisation that they've so thoroughly divided the American public that opposition to the war has plateaued. They could piss on people's faces, but 30% of Americans will still support them regardless. And they need those people to come to the polling booths come November. The Bush administration can lie with a straight face, but hopefully that doesn't mean they can get away with it.
