Isu walked around the park she’d usually just walk past on the way back home, she shivered at the cold wind that touched her exposed skin. It was pretty late when she got off her job it was at this time when the she felt like her worries and problem seems to melt. Isu has frequent heart attacks and sadly her heart attack seems to be getting worse.
She sighed and tipped her head back and looked at the vast dark night sky that was decorated with little twinkling stars. The doctors predicted that she won’t live for much longer not even to see the next snow fall; even though she took it as if she didn’t care she truthfully was saddened by that fact alone. She decided that it was getting late so he stood up but something caught his attention.
Not far from where she was standing was a guy lying down and decided to check the person, to her surprise it was a guy with a pale complexion as she neared his ear to check if the guy was breathing she heard a soft moan. The guy’s eyes suddenly burst open and Isu found herself captivated into his misty eyes.
“What do you want?” asked the guy without even looking at Isu before getting up and crossing hands at his chest
“Ah…Well you were lying here and so I thought…” before Isu could finish the guy smirked at him and she felt cold fingers touch her chin. Isu’s stare was locked into the misty eyed guy in front of him for some reason she felt a slight attraction to this person
She felt the cold fingers pull away but even then the cold still lingered she noticed the guy seemed to be about the same age as her, she tried to move closer but the boy smiled and her breath was caught between her throat as she noticed white fangs glistening in the moonlight.
It was then Isu knew some things were about to change and ever since Isu and Keito had been hanging around each other, since Keito wasn’t much of a talker Isu just kept silent not that it mattered. The passing second Isu spent with Keito in silence was her paradise and her escape of the reality of her future that seems too ceased as time passes by.
“Why don’t you drink my blood?” asked Isu
Keito didn’t say anything but just looked at Isu as if she’d grown to heads, but with Isu asking him to drink his blood something sparked in Keito. Unwanted memories from the past that imprisoned him for centuries came back and memories of “her” flooded his head. He gritted his teeth and suppressed the growl tempting to come out before pushing Isu and disappearing in to the night.
Isu gave out a sigh before giving a last glance to the direction Keito disappeared to before trailing back to her house completely missing the pair of eyes that were watching her. When Isu got home she felt a sudden chill that made the back of her hair stand up, she slowly turned her head to find a guy standing just a few steps away from her.
“Who are you?!” she asked
“Relax woman! I’m Keito’s friend” smiled the young boy
“Friend? Then your also a…” Isu didn’t finish her sentence as the boy cut her with his introduction
“My name’s Chinen Yuri and yeah I’m also a vampire” smiled Chinen “And I could tell you about Keito and her”
Isu was about to say no when her inner thoughts stopped her; and that if she want to get closer to Keito she’d have to know what happened before. It felt like forever when Chinen finished his story and tears was nearly flowing out of Isu’s eyes, she wiped her eyes and looked at Chinen who gently smiled at her.
“Now do you understand?” asked Chinen
Isu didn’t say anything but sniffled and slowly nodded her head, it was fine that Keito wouldn’t drink her blood she felt sad for the boy. After Chinen left Isu decided to show Keito the bright side of things even when the world or everything seemed against you. She went to bed planning on meeting Keito at the usual.
Isu waited for Keito at usual but somehow Isu had a feeling Keito wasn’t going to show as her hopes began to die down, she heard the familiar slow and gentle footprints she didn’t even need to turn around; it was Keito. The both of them spent time together and Isu purposefully tried to make a fool out of herself in order for Keito to smile, which unfortunately didn’t happen till Isu decided to tell her unfortunate story and how and what keeps her going and striving to live until the end.
Keito looked at the strong yet weak girl beside him unknown to him his hand slowly reached out to pat the latter’s head gently. Isu was shocked by his action and so was Keito and he quickly retracted his hand but end up getting caught by Isu and locked his with hers as she pulled him. Isu quickly took a secret glance at the supposedly stoic vampire but instead of his usual cold and far away look was finally the long awaited smile Isu longed to see.

Just when Isu had finally managed to break down the barrier between her and Keito and when she finally thought that she has finally touched just a bit of his closed heart, time became her enemy. Time was slowly preying on Isu’s life essence until one day while out with Keito she collapsed, Keito who seemed unfazed about the whole event walked over to Isu and supported her by the shoulders.
Both of them sat there in silent and the only thing can be heard was Isu’s wheezing and grasp for breath as he tried to soothe the stabbing pain in her chest, but she knew it far too well it was her time. She mustered all the strength she had left to speak to Keito.
“I’m sorry Keito…I’m sorry I’m leaving you behind just like Haruka-san…The death of those close to you must be the worst thing that could happen to you” said Isu
Keito just looked at Isu and unknowingly hardened his grip on Isu’s shoulder, and just like before Isu said the same thing his past girlfriend said to him.
“Trust me Keito… There will…No I know there are people out there who will need you and wanting to be with you and know whatever happens they’ll go through it with you…” smiled Isu “Like…Me even though it’s only been a few days its been fun..If I had the choice I would have spent more time but…”
Keito’s tears flowed out of his pale face as he looks at the dying Isu in his arms, the person who showed him that there are more to life than seeing your beloved die in front of you and that no matter how hard it is to accept it they are not gone forever as the memories forever lives in you. All he saw was black this person in front of him who was smiling away and the person who finally melted the ice surrounding his heart and made him smile is slipping away from his grasp just like before.
“I guess I won’t be seeing the snow this year… Even though I really wanted to see it with you…” Isu said in a low whispered voice just soft enough for Keito to hear before her head fell against Keito’s shoulder with a slight ‘thump’.
“Isu?! Open your eyes” cried Keito who finally broke and before he knew it he was shaking the lifeless body of the person he’d learned to love.
“Isu being with you for a thousand years and giving you life of eternal years …I lied; I can’t do those things… But at least for now even just for a little while longer…” cried Keito
