But I have taken multiple martial arts class and participated and 2 amateur bouts and had my face pretty much punched in in one of them. I think that gives me merit to state my opinion here. I've done both and I think both of them are extremely difficult. Professional fighting is harder, but ballet is no walk in the park and Shamrock had no idea what he was talking about.
But in fighting you just have to kick someone's butt.
In ballet you have to kick butt and make it look beautiful. I mean, in the end, the general requirements for ballet are pretty strict. Sure, Ethan Steifel couldn't kick anyone's ass. But Shamrock couldn't possibly cut it as an ABT legend.
And I've totally seen guys kneed in the crotch during pirouettes before.

how many times have you gotten punched in the face in ballet class? Not saying ballet is easy, just something to keep in mind.
