It's been raining for several days here in SF. That's a lot by our standards, as SF is a 'semi-arid' climate. And, when we have prolonged rain, it means trouble

Man, I was out all afternoon and it is pure hell. I had to run errand after errand. You know what traffic and parking are like here anyway but, today with the rain, EVERYONE was driving and fighting for parking. Streets are blocked because of water. :-) My plan had been to stay in all day but my friend was in need of help so I went out and braved the elements. I'm not sure what it's worth to her. I'll find out later, after dinner.
LOL to tell you the truth, it sounds better to me to just stay in and go to bed. The thought of going back out into that is not pleasant. And, she lives in one of those incredibly crowded parts of the city full of restaurants and chic boutiques etc. So, parking there is worse than most places, especially on Friday night. Damn!!!!!
Hey, I must have been so wet from the rain that I missed this post. I'm sorry. I love you. I feel terrible for missing your post. Can you forgive me? Please? Pretty please??????
See, the funny thing is that I was born in SF and raised in Marin County...Mill Valley to be exact. I was transplanted to SoCal when I was 9, but I've never lost my love for the rain. We had a big ol' storm here over the last weekend, and I was so in. And this is Southern California...where there is absolutely no infrastructure to handle "severe weather." We even had a two-hour power outage on Friday. But I didn't care. "Bring on the rain," I cried.
LOL Let me tell you, if you like rain, move to the south, like Louisiana or Mississippi. Now, they get RAIN! Huge, heavy, scary thunderstorms with torrential downpours and thunder-boomers like you wouldn't believe.
Speaking of power outages... They have become a regular fact of life up here. The last storm we had before this one, my power was out for 14 hours. This past storm (remember, I use the term loosely) I was without power for 4 hours and the road I live on washed out and had to be closed. And, I live IN the city of San Francisco. :-)
Hey, do you mind if I add you as a friend? I checked out your LJ and I like it. Well, I guess that means I like you. So, if you don't mind...
