LJ is weird

I archived my LJ a few minutes ago just to be on the safe side. And it brought up my first entry, so I read for a while. Bu the bulk of the people who used to comment almost everyday have just gone poof from LJ. Which is sad, because some of them were a great source of support and strength. I've noticed the same thing. There were times I couldn't keep up with my LJ friends because EVERYONE was posting constantly. I've noticed the same decline in Chatting online as well; used to be, I had 5-6 windows going at once on Y!...I was 'popular' because people wanted to talk to me about a variety of things. I was also involved heavily in the Jedi online scene...not so now; a lot of places are gone...and the Star Wars phenomenon is way past its prime... Now, I am down to good friends who still like being on and chatting in the evenings to keep company and kill time.... But, like you... I miss the old days.

I think it's kind of like any social network (online or off)... people grow together, then grow apart. I still know a lot of people in my offline life that I knew when I was in university, but we were never really close, and we're even less likely to become real friends now.

My online life is getting smaller, too. Mostly because I'm finding it difficult to make the same amount of time to interact online as I once did.

I suppose it is just a part of life that you grow together and apart in cycles. I just wish, in most of the cases, anyways, that I had a chance to say goodbye.

Then again, I suppose it is also true that my online presence changes as my offline life evolves. And I am sure some of the people just changed journals and I missed it. *sigh*

I'm still around, dude. I just have less to say these days, and less time to say it in. I still read though.

Yay for still around :D ((((hugs)))))

We really should get together one of these days, if you can carve out some minutes.
