my cat died last week and my mother didn't decide to tell me until today... needless to say, the news has put quite a damper on my day.

ew. i have just been feeling emotionally-- wrong, lately. and old habits die hard.

im so sorry about your cat :( my dog just died this week...it seriously sucks to be far from home when stuff like this happens.
