Culture clash?

I must admit, there is one aspect of the culture I find myself in that I just simply do not get. I have not understood this for the long time I've been here and I still don't get it.... why do people like abusive bigots

I don't get it either :(. I think it is something that has changed in the course of my lifetime. When I was young, a comedian like Don Rickles was considered pretty extreme because he used "insult humor." Nowadays he would look like Mother Theresa compared to the average radio personality. I totally don't understand it.
