The last presidential election happened when my son was in kindergarten. They got to "vote" in their class and my son voted for Barack Obama. "Thank the gods for women" - absolutely love it!
I also had a huge proudmama moment yesterday when E wanted to come with me to the polling place to see exactly how this voting thing worked, and he and I have discussed the issues and where the candidates stand on them many times. He may not be an ardent democrat (yet), but he certainly understands the importance of voting for individual people over political parties, and is definitely looking forward to the day when he can participate in the process. He made me promise to tell him as soon as the election had a projected winner, and likewise cheered the outcome.
