LOL! I love that last line *grins* Such is life huh? If it makes you feel any better our home is pretty much the same thing, chores with occassional peaks of play.
BTW, how old are said units? Are the aware of your lifestyle? My three olest are but my 9 year old isn't (well, sort of) and I'm a bit of a loss as to what to tell him regarding his step-father. I want him to respect james but is seeing him obviously lower than I am in the family structure counter productive?
Well, we tried to have a "special room" set-up, but we caught the XY Units looking for the key one day and that ended that. We really haven't discussed our "playtime" with the kids. It's just something mom and dad do in private. They know we have some unconventional friends. It was a little amusing to watch #2 freak when I ran into a "Scene" friend last year on the streets of Philly {"Dad, who was that man with all the rings in his face you were talking to?").
LOL! How old are your units? My 30 year old didn't care for my lifestyle, but then she doesn't care for me as a person either. My 27 year old son is a switch and thinks everything is cool as hell. Er, yeah. My 15 year old thinks he's firmly a Top and is eager to learn (he won't by me until he's 18 though.) It's the 9 year old (yes, 30 to 9, LOL) that is being raised in the lifestyle that I'm trying to work out. I have both james (my husband) and a leo (as my pet) that live with me and do my bidding. Our life is honestly 70% "normal" with Mom just being bossier than most and we try to keep actual lifestyle things for the weekends he's not with us.
21, 16, 15. Aieeeee! The oldest is away at college, so he's not an issue. Although when he comes back in the summer, Mom and dad are going to be REAL careful about what events we attend. Most of the time we do the Ozzie and Harriet thingee.
Your entries are much better at portraying the day-to-day realities of the lifestyle than any fantasy piece about men being chained to the wall all the time. :) (Though I still get lots of spam from men who want that. Seriously, if I locked them up 24/7, who would clean my floors?)
Thanks. Our good friend, Lady M, related this exchange over the Net one day: HNG: What can I do to serve you Mistress? Lady M: Mow my lawn. HNG: But what will I get out of this? Lady M: See me smile.

It's a trial I'm afraid.
