Woot! I finally got a job. Yes, it's a 45 minute commute to Blaine, but it's a job and I'm happy about that. I had to go up there today to fill out paperwork and they took my hair for a drug test. What kind of job is it?
Why does it require a drug test?
I mean.... the employer can employ who they like, but surely your work should speak for itself and what you do in your own time is your own buisiness, surely?
...
Or are employers another branch of the police?
(I'm currently completely clean of herb, by the way, and have been for almost a month, and I still think this kind of thing is disgracefull... they wouldn't stand for it here in NZ because we beleive it violates some human rights. What about someone with Rastafarianism as a religion? Would an employer decide not to hire them because traces of one of their religious observances in their system? Similarly for a Naitive American...)

...Yeah, I -know-, if you're completely 'clean' you have nothing to worry about, and furthermore, even if you're not you can clense your system for a job interview, and if you can't even do that, 'perhaps you shouldn't be hired' ...
...
but I still think its moderately disgraceful.
(NZ just had its elections, and I voted to 'legalise 2005')
