Most Singaporeans are apathetic. Especially us Chinese. It's probably our upbringing... So dun say u're a loser la...I will probably end up like you, ie. take a few glance (not stare) & wait for another person (usually non-chinese) to go tell the person off. lol

personally i have No issues with people drinking coffee, water, beverages or eating things with non-overpowering smells. I would go ahead and tell him/her, though, if I were feeling ballsy enough and the person was continuously sipping, but not to order him/her to stop, but to let him/her know that -hello, got fine-.

i once told a guy to lower his hp music volume
and almost got into a fight with him...
cos he was those kind of chao LAo beng and then kaopeh me tat his hp nothing to do with me and wat not..and ask me to go down the bus to fight etc...
was quite tense actually...and i just slash ignored him..
