I'm not going to agree or disagree with you here but...
If man is evil and we can never be beyond war why do you care if Saddam Hussein is ousted? Or any brutal dictator for that matter? Why do we care about anything?
What difference does any of it even make if the sum of our actions always comes back to evil?
Oh also, and this is just a side note... the nazis had been attacking American cargo ships for some time leading up to our entering WWII and Germany declared war on the United States 3 days after Pearl Harbor (i.e. before we'd declared war on them)... so it is a little different.

If Saddam was Evil and the government truly felt we needed to get rid of him, we could've assassinated him easily. We did not however and went to war instead. What does war do to people? What were its objectives? Oh and that's a rhetorical question

And I never said he was evil...I find the word too subjective to be used in this type of situation, (save for in regard to humans...)
