Diefenbaker fic! This is adorable. I like Dief's dry, matter-of-fact wolfy voice. Love how he mooches the muffins off Ray's neighbor. It's also cool that he can gauge the level of Ray's irritation from the vibrations--at a distance, even. Smart wolf.
The copy's so clean that I figured you'd want to know there's a word missing in this sentence:
(Cats are almost as fun as rabbits, but there aren’t any rabbits here in this strange place my friend and I now live.)
Should be "...in this strange place where my friend and I now live" ("in which" is OK, too) or "...in this strange place my friend and I now live in."
Also, since Dief's English is so grammatical, maybe he'd want this to be perfect, too: "She does not know whom she is dealing with."
I love how Ray's concerns are just not important when there are muffins or there's a cat. That is so Dief! Here's another great bit:
