Magician Humphrey as Magician of Information

I just wanted to say that elevator_grl and xrainboix totally rock. I've been discussing in the Psychics Community that there have been a whole bunch of Xanth Prophecies that have been coming true. I just posted about the word "Go" and and Jigsaw Puzzles in earlier posts. The stuff I've been uncovering is kind of how Magician Humphrey's magical talent works using

The thing is, it isn't a magical talent. He doesnt invoke his ability and suddenly know things, he uses his head,researches, collects things for a rainy day and keeps out an ear for stuff. That is why he is so understanding of Bink, who appeared to have no talent.

Isn't it? One could argue (as I am now), that Humfrey's talent, in the magical sense, is an innate talent for doing that research. Not everyone is able to pick up every bit of information he-or-she hears and sees, as Humfrey seems to be able to do. Or perhaps his retention is magically-based. If I asked the average 70 year old who their 2nd grade English teacher was, they'd not have a clue, and Humfrey is... (doesn't feel like looking up the exact number) ...very much older than that. Heck, even being especially curious could trace back to magic.

Mind you, these talents probably wouldn't be considered Magician caliber, but Humfrey has a royal decree and a diploma from the University of Magic (Question Quest_ to back it up. (:

so it's been about a year (wow) since i last read that section of the series...but it is a magic talent...how it works, i don't remember, but it is. he sort of has the mishmash talent that he uses to an amazing advantage...that of being intelligent! so yes, it is possible for us regular folk to have the same talent, just not nearly to the same degree. and maybe that's what piers was going for...one of the most revered magicians can be pared down to simply an intelligent person.

Everyone's Got Intuition

I've discovered over the last year that everyone has intuition. Some people use it more than others. It's just that since the general populace doesn't understand how it works.
