I stopped with The Color of Her Panties. Consciously, I didn't think his style changed. I thought I just out grew it. However, looking back, his style became less...serious. He stopped writing for the series and started writing for fun. Well...I mean...like this:

An artist doesn't publish doodles.

As for the kids thing--hey, I mean, it's just a book. Kids don't need to be supervised in fiction because it's fiction. I agree that the adult conspiracy was stupid. I learned what sex was when I was 7. My mom read me a book. I don't need Anthony to tell me that its a special hug between two people.

I agree about the man thing, too. Whats the big deal with panties, anyway? I mean, honestly, it felt like panties were more taboo than pussy, to put it bluntly.

No, I totally agree with you. The first few books were hardcore adventure. The latest I read was Stork Naked, and not only was it poorly constructed (I had to keep flipping back and forth to find out what was going on), the entire book was suffused with awkward sexual situations.

I've noted that Piers's style consists of putting an old guy in a situation with a very young, sexy, and very willing girl who manages to convince the old guy to have sex, even though he is protesting (which makes it okay). In the end, that is even more degrading to women, I think. It was interesting a few times, but now it happens at least three times in each novel ( ... )

My favorite part is reading in the old author notes at the back of the books being about "Not sending me puns."

I still like his older xanth though, I was never able to read beyond Question Quest, though I think at one point I did finally get to read whichever one they turned into that DOS adventure game. It's been ages. ;.;
