After some careful consideration I decided not to take the puppy after all. I think a puppy needs far more attention than my social life would have for it. Besides it was only a matter of time before it ended up wrapped in bacon on my dinner plate.

Probably a good decision if you don't think you have the time to take care of one!

Yeah, I'd feel bad leaving if for like 8-12 hours to go hang out with friends. Sounds like they kind of need pretty constant attention at this stage especially if you're going to house train them.

Somewhat. Amber wanted a lot of attention early on, but she easily grew used to use going to parties / etc. (We brought her along as a puppy to socialize her, actually. It did wonders since she is a people lover now.)

Amber also got potty training -really- early on, which made things easier. It just took a while to get to the 'I can hold it all night' phase, haha.
