Definately go with the Purple. and even if Dark Dark purple sin't the same (it's probabaly not, stupid wig people) it would still look alright. unless you want to consider getting the lighter wig, and like... buying Katie Bair's Uber Expensive wig dye. but I think even a close color is good, aprticularly since illustrations and cells tend to vary from shot to shot anyway.

Even if it does turn out to be a bit lighter I could resort to some form of wig dye but even if it were lighter it'd probably still be ok on at least one of the pictures :P Seeing as it's one of these annoying things that keeps changing! *shakes fist*

I know you don't like it and I'll probably not be OVERLY keen on it but it's a chance to see people again and a cosplay opportunity and I want to hug a dalek >_> I'd probably only be able to go for a day anyway since it's around exam time and it would cost more to stay overnight.

I see what you mean and chances are I would need extensions with that crazy hairstyle. MAYBE I'd be able to survive without them. In which case I'd probably go with the purple. Plus I remember a while ago finding a site which sold them in that kind of colour.

If it's both that's fine and I can give you the money for it when I get my hundreds of pounds (hopefully XD) of birthday money :P Yay!
