Title: Banana Boat Crush
Fandom: NewS
Pairing: Koyama/Kato
Rating: PG-13ish (inappropriate use of a banana... sort of)
Disclaimer: Not associated with Johnny's Entertainment. This is fiction; it never happened.
A/N: Titles are the bane of my existence. Just like Tego is the bane of Shige's =D
Shige is going to kill Tegoshi.
He’s been fairly patient with the younger man (boy, he corrects petulantly in his mind) up until this point, keeping his temper in check and generally ignoring the over-the-top antics that have run rampant during their current concert regime. Tegoshi always gets a little out of hand at the start of a tour; he’s really just a big kid at heart, and his mischievous side never fails to get the better of him when he’s excited.
But this… this is just cruel. Even for Tegoshi.
“It’s good, right Kei-chan?” The youngest member croons, sounding rather smug. Koyama makes a muffled noise in the affirmative and Shige swears loudly in his head, tries not to squirm where he sits. “I told you. They taste better when you take them all at once.”
Across the room, Ryo chokes on his energy drink. Shige, underneath his own mortification and mild jealousy, is rather pleased that he isn’t the only one who’s having a hard time here.
“Mhm.” Koyama says, and it’s kind of hard not to focus on the way his cheeks hollow out as he pulls back, just a bit. “It’s hard.” He tells Tegoshi, frowning. Then he adds, sounding a little bit awed, like it’s something to be proud of, “I don’t know how you do it, Tegorin.”
Tegoshi just grins. “Practice.” He reaches over to pat Koyama on the shoulder as the older man goes back to trying to swallow his banana whole. From over the oldest man’s shoulder, Shige catches his attention, and he swears that there’s a hint of evil in that smile. “You’ll get it eventually, Kei-chan. Just keep trying.”
Koyama does.
Shige continues his plans of murdering Tegoshi in his sleep.
Title: Enough
Fandom: NewS
Pairing: Koyama/Tegoshi
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Not associated with Johnny's Entertainment. This is fiction; it never happened.
A/N: The general consensus on this fic is *wibble*ing. Never in a million years did I think I'd actually come to like this pairing @___@; Tara, Cait, I blame you both!
Tegoshi gives his first valentine when he’s six and a half, but it doesn’t go to a cute girl in his class at school or to his mother, like most little boys’ valentines do. No, Tegoshi’s valentine is presented very proudly to ten year old Koyama Keiichiro, a sweet young man from down the street who often babysits when Tegoshi-mama can’t get anyone else to do it.
Tegoshi-mama and Koyama-mama coo in delight at this. Koyama himself smiles sweetly, hugs his little charge in thanks, and proudly tapes the crudely made heart to his school binder, where it stays for another two years.
When Tegoshi is seven, eight, twelve, fifteen, he continues the tradition. Koyama takes each gift, ranging from cheesy, childlike poems (age nine) to carefully selected chocolate covered cherries (age fourteen), with the same gentle smile and indulgent attitude. To his teasing friends, he shrugs it off; It’s just a little crush, he tells them. He’ll grow out of it.
Tegoshi doesn’t.
But when he reaches age sixteen, he stops trying. He finds a nice girl to start seeing, takes her out for a few weeks, months, maybe a year. They break up on White Day; he never returns her gifts. The process repeats. Age nineteen and her name is Kana. Twenty, and her name is Mari. They never meet his standards, but he never meets his own; he’s not good enough, not old enough, not mature enough. Never enough. He and Koyama still talk. Koyama always mentions how much he’s grown, like he’s hinting at something. Tegoshi never responds; it hurts too much.
Age twenty three, and he’s alone with nothing but a broken heart and a bad reputation. Valentines’ Day passes and his garbage can ends up full.
On March 14th, he comes home and finds them sitting on his doorstep; white roses, delicate and freshly cut. Taped to the vase is a crumpled, crudely cut out heart. The design is familiar; the scribbled writing is not.
“You really have grown,” it reads, and Tegoshi’s heart flutters. “Maybe I have too.”
Beneath the message is a cellphone number. Age twenty three, and Tegoshi spends his first White Day with the person he loves. It’s still not enough, but it’s a start.
Title: Careful What You Wish For
Fandom: NewS
Pairing: Shige/Shige.../Shige + Tegod
Rating: PG-13 (hints of naughtiness)
Disclaimer: Not associated with Johnny's Entertainment. This is fiction; it never happened.
A/N: In my defense, I was sick and had a fever when I wrote this.
“It was an accident,” Tegoshi half-wails, squirming nervously while Shige pins him down with a rather unforgiving stare. “You were complaining about being too busy! I just wanted to help!”
“This-“ Shige jabs a finger at Clone #1, who is studiously ignoring them all in favor of eating Shige’s lunch. “-is not helping! How did you even…” He stops, then shakes his head as he realizes what he was about to ask. “Never mind. I don’t want to know how you did it. I don’t care.” Taking the younger boy by the shoulders, he steers him to face Clone #2. “Make them go away.”
“It doesn’t work like that,” Tegoshi protests. “I can’t just wish them away. They have a purpose.”
“What kind of purpose could they possibly have?!”
Tegoshi shrugs. “Whatever Shige wants, I think,” He looks thoughtful for a moment, and then he grins, perverted little mind running laps in his head. “I know what I would do with them-ow!” He jerks away from the slightly older man, hands going up to rub at the spot he was just whacked at. “I’m just trying to help!”
“Out.” is Shige’s only response. Only it’s in stereo, because the other two echo it at almost the exact same moment. “Go pester Massu for a while.”
Tegoshi pouts, but decides in the end that it’s not worth it.
The minute he’s gone, Clone #1 gives Shige a rather lewd looking grin. “It’s worth a try, right?” Clone #2 nods sagely, agreeing wholeheartedly. “And it wouldn’t be very responsible if we didn’t try every possible solution.”
Shige wants to deny the implication there, but then realizes that doing so would mean he’d be arguing with himself, and snaps his mouth shut. After all, everyone is always saying how smart he is. It would be dumb not to listen.
Title: Star-Struck
Fandom: NewS
Pairing: Yamashita/Tegoshi
Rating: PG-13 (Heavy kissing?)
Disclaimer: Not associated with Johnny's Entertainment. This is fiction; it never happened.
A/N: I kind of really love this pairing, but Pi is hard as hell to characterize right. So, when all else fails... to the half-smut XD
Tegoshi has him by the collar before he even realizes what’s happening, nimble little fingers pressing against the sensitive flesh of his neck, pulling him down, forward. Yamapi goes along with it, matches each fervent kiss. If he’s surprised by the sudden ambush, he doesn’t show it, one hand sliding into the younger man’s hair and fisting there, taking control at the first instance that Tegoshi falters.
It’s very much a game, give and take that ends with Tegoshi pressed against a wall, strong hands holding his hips in place, calloused thumbs rubbing teasingly at the soft skin exposed by his shirt hem.
“What brought this on?” Pi asks, voice husky, rough. He smirks in a smug sort of way when Tegoshi shudders at the sound of it.
The younger shrugs, feigning casualness, and Yamapi leans down to nip at his earlobe, just to watch him fall apart all over again. He’s come a long way since his junior years, no longer the shy, awkward little NEWS member that couldn’t even look his senpai in the eye. But in many ways, he’s still that star-struck boy, constantly seeking his leader’s approval.
And at times like this, Pi is always happy to give it.
Title: Actions over Words
Fandom: NewS
Pairing: Kato/Tegoshi
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Not associated with Johnny's Entertainment. This is fiction; it never happened.
A/N: My second OTP, behind TegoMasu =]
Getting Shige to admit that Tegoshi is cute is a little bit like pulling teeth, according to Koyama. And Ryo. And Yamapi. And Massu… well, he knows better than to get involved.
The point is, Shige is stubborn, possibly more so than anyone else in the group, and whenever the topic comes up, he becomes absolutely adamant that their youngest member is not the sweet, innocent little angel everyone seems to profess him as, he is not that cute, and everyone really should stop letting him get away with murder whenever he gives them so much as a smile.
Some days the complaints come out sour, and he gets teased for being jealous. Others, they come out too strong, and he gets hounded on for picking on the group baby.
No one really understands why it is that Tegoshi always smiles right through it, like it doesn’t matter; Shige may as well be talking about someone else, for all he reacts to it. Koyama will coo over him for being responsible and mature, Ryo will give Shige an extra kick in the shin for making him act mature about it, and Yamapi will sagely offer some piece of advice that really doesn’t relate to the situation at all. And Massu…
Well, Massu knows a little bit more about what goes on behind closed doors than the others. He is, after all, Tegoshi’s best friend. So he just smiles too.
~***~
“Omf,” Shige says, and he makes a valiant-but-fruitless effort at removing the sudden weight in his lap with a half-hearted shove. “You’re heavy, get off.”
Tegoshi just laughs at him and cuddles closer. “Shige was mean to me today,” He says with a pout that Shige knows is fake, even if he’s the only one who seems to realize or care.
“You’re a brat,” is Shige’s response, but it doesn’t have any venom behind it. It never does when they’re alone. And when, after a few moments of trying with little success at staying frustrated, Shige heaves a very put-upon sort of sigh and absently slides his fingers into Tegoshi’s soft, unstyled hair, the smaller man grins in a pleased sort of way and stretches out, draping himself over the older man’s lap in a casual, comfortable sort of way and for once not getting a complaint out of it.
Shige never has to say that he thinks Tegoshi is cute. His actions speak for themselves.
~BONUS FIC~
Title: Ai Nante (A Thing like Love)
Fandom: NewS
Pairing: Masuda/Tegoshi
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Not associated with Johnny's Entertainment. This is fiction; it never happened.
A/N: There was no way I could make my grand re-entrance without a tegomasu fic =] Enjoy!
Masuda isn’t sure what it is that wakes him; maybe something, maybe nothing at all. Probably the television, he realizes somewhat groggily; it’s still on, playing through the credits of the movie he had been watching, some cheesy pop song playing in the background. The clock on the cable box screen reads 02:37.
He grunts, rolls his neck and thinks that he really should get into bed, goes to do just that when a soft noise of protest reaches him, and it’s only then that he realizes there’s something heavy weighing down his lap.
Tegoshi must’ve fallen over when he fell asleep, is all Masuda can think to justify it. Not that he really minds, anyway; Tegoshi has used him for stranger things in the past, being a pillow is easy by comparison. And kind of rewarding too, because really, the younger man is kind of adorable when he sleeps; occasionally mumbling something softly, face twitching every once in a while, sometimes to smile, sometimes to frown. He’s got one hand curled into Masuda’s pant leg, and every time the other man tries to move, he tugs on it plaintively.
Masuda sighs as he gets comfortable, settling in for the long haul. He’ll be sore tomorrow; the couch is not exactly comfortable sleeping space. But one look at Tegoshi’s sleeping face and he can’t quite bring himself to move.
