this is what i posted:

[First order of business:
THE DASHBOARDFANS COMMUNITY PROCLAIMED THAT CHRISTOPHER ENDER CARRABBA IS GOING TO BE WED. HOLY SMOKES. I THOUGHT THAT I’D AT LEAST MANAGE ONE DATE BEFORE HIS ENGAGEMENT. THIS IS A NEW LOW [NOT REALLY]. WE WILL NO LONGER CRY TOGETHER OVER BEING ALONE. *SOB.*

That was fun.
Anyway.]

etc.
p.s. i LOVE your icon. i remember that exact moment. haha.

aha! so you *do* read my journal. so infrequently do you comment. hrm. haha.

p.s. seriously, though. if the most emo man alive is getting married, that says something about how pathetic us girls' love lives are. yeesh.

i know. i can't figure out how dashboard will continue to work. but in that book, nothing feels good, he said he had been in love with this one girl from his hometown since they were little kids. i hope he's marrying her.

well one of my favorite songs by dashboard is "hands down", which is like as romantic as you can get. i love the last lines--and you kissed me like you meant it, and i knew that you meant it. so sweet. so i mean, dashboard isn't all about being "alone". but yeah, i hope he's marrying his childhood sweetheart. that's adorable.

hahaha. that's funny but i really agree! like when 'a mark, a mission, a brand, a scar' came out, i liked it of course. but i was a little dissapointed. i mean, it was pretty happy! that's not what you listened to d/c for!
i can't believe he's engaged now, damn. there goes my future plans.

what is this book, 'nothing feels good'? i can't believe i've never heard of it. i must read it!

and hope
that you'll
believe me

Nothing Feels Good: Teenagers, Punk Rock, and Emo is by Andy Greenwald, who writes for the music magazine Spin. It's kind of like an account of how the "emo" music genre got so big in America, and how different it is to have humble bands writing earnest, heartfelt songs and actually caring about their fans, instead of obnoxious rockstars shooting up backstage and smashing guitars on it. It's actually pretty good.
I know, to quote Shendi, "I thought I'd get in at least one date before this happened."
I actually love A Mark/Mission/Brand/Scar, it's probably my favorite Dashboard album. I like that it covers such a different range of emotions, and besides, the music's so pretty.
