To a certain extent "which" college doesn't matter. At all. You can do anything pretty much any thing anywhere and you'll still be overwhelmed with more opportunities for usefull things than you'll have time for. Grad school matters more. But it's still not a big deal.

Yeah, I know, to an extent. But what I'm really looking for is a school that has in-depth courses in the field I want. Like, for instance, my safety doesn't even offer French as a major. Also, when I apply to grad school, I'd like the admission officers to recognize where I went. I heard a line once, something like, "There are only two names on that diploma, and it is absolutely necessary that they can recognize one of them." My dad is trying to bribe me to take a scholarship at a lesser state school (they haven't even offered me it yet, by the way, he's being presumptous), by saying that he'll have more money put aside to pay for grad school at Columbia, which is located conveniently in close proximity to my hometown. I don't think he wants me to leave.

a movie is a movie, just that, its to watch not read. if you want to read it, take the $9.75 you spend to "sit like an idiot" and buy the book. but God forbid a simpleton like me, the idiot i am who likes to WATCH movies (isn't that crazy), try to contradict. i know you'll just come back and say something witty and sarcastic that blows anything i say or have said out of the water, then continue to think your not worthy of an ivy league school, because hey, what does your teacher know, i bet she watches movies too. if you couldnt get in, who could? please tell me, cause id just like to know what kind of person you think would get into a school like that. not anyone in our toilet bowl of a school thats for sure.
