My thoughts on Doctor Who and Torchwood

Yay! More television from the Whoniverse! Also, I made a new friend and she came over to watch Doctor Who with me :) And I have another friend (who is also named Allison too!) who watches it, but she's not caught up yet so she didn't watch it with us. Anyways, my thoughts:

The special blood thing bothered me too. Because we know Jack is not immortal because of his blood. However the reasoning that makes the most sense to me is that when Jack was the only mortal, his blood was the only mortal blood. So when everything changed back, the blessing made everything mortal immortal again, and the blood BECAME immortal in Rex even though there is nothing particularly special about it.

I really liked Esther, too. I think it would have become romantic, just because in such high stress situations like this, people bond in special ways and it would be difficult to move on to a life without somebody who would understand that experience. BUT SHE'S DEAD LOL OUT OF LUCK.

I enjoyed Miracle Day as a whole but I thought a lot of the finale was pretty cheesy and kind of lulzy when it wasn't supposed to be. I still don't really think they needed Oswald at all in this show? LOL.

And Gwen was awesome.

Yeah, I dunno. I mean, it all kind of made sense if you don't watch Doctor Who, it didn't really contradict itself too much this season, it just all doesn't fit with the original way he became immortal. Oh well.

I will mourn the lost chance of Esther/Rex as I mourn Esther herself.

I dunno, I enjoyed it. It was a bit overdramatic sometimes, yeah, but it was still pretty intense, and it was fun. And Oswald... I dunno. He was pretty interesting at times. I dunno if his last comment was really necessary though. We get that he's gross guys, enough.

I really need to go back and watch the earlier seasons now that I've grown fond of Gwen.

I always liked Gwen! I have no idea why everybody hates her guts so much. She was always there to act as the character the audience could relate to throughout all the chaos, so of course she wasn't going to die like anyone else etc., etc.

I kept feeling like they wanted Oswald to be really important but that they couldn't make him an important character without humanizing him, and that they were too afraid to actually go there. They didn't want to make a child-murdering pedo sympathetic, and because of that he was kind of pointless. I don't see why they needed him to threaten to blow everybody up since Jack could have just stormed through there and then if they killed him their goal was accomplished anyway. LOL.

I dunno, she just always irritated me in the first season, and some of the second. I mean, I didn't hate her as much as some people would. I really like her now though (pretty much everyone somewhat likable in shows I like, I end up loving), so I need to go back, and I'll probably like her a lot better.

Yeah. And I feel like they'd try and humanize him or go deeper into his character and it would start to work, but then all of the other characters would just despise him, and it would be back to square one.
