nice ride.

any particular reason you chose that style bike over a cruiser style?

keep your eyes peeled!!!!!!!!!!!!

motorcycles on the road are very liberating (both from gas prices and the restraints of being in a box) but also very much a thing that you can't get distracted from what you're doing...nobody sees you...ever. always assume that...thats my only advice. HAVE FUN!

I don't like the look of cruiser bikes. I don't like the relaxed posture everyone always has on them. I'm not a huge fan of sports/street bikes either. I like the look of motorcycles when they just started figuring out aerodynamics. When sports bikes were first getting their signature looks that they have now. Plus, I feel real comfortable on this bike.

Thanks for the tips... you aren't the first person to give me that advice. I have started to pay more attention to other drivers bad habits, that way I can be more aware on my bike.

Nice! I actually test drove a '93 Seca II back when I was buying my first bike. Very fun bike, I almost bought it. (I bought a Yamaha FZ700 instead.)

You're gonna love it. But yeah, be careful. Besides the fact that no one is ever looking for you (my first bike accident), keep in mind that the stopping distance is much longer than you'd expect (my second bike accident).

Oh, and I know Florida has no helmet laws, but my advice is to always wear one. It's never worth risking your head or face to 'look cool'. And getting hit in the face by a bug going 60 mph is no fun, either.

Now, all the preaching aside: that's a great bike - have fun!

The Florida helmet laws are interesting. You are allowed to ride without a helmet but,if you are pulled over and you can't provide an insurance policy... ticketsville. If you ride with a helmet then you aren't required to have insurance.
Since I bought the bike to help cut some costs... I will be riding with a helmet.

please don't turn into one of those douchebags that drive these sporty bikes that thinks that the road belongs to them and they skate between cars and speed through every intersection. please. because those are the guys i want to get hurt. and i don't want to mistake you for one of those asswipes when i see you driving around.

other than that, you are on the right track. i want to get a motorcycle but i'm gonna have to wait a little bit.
