1 Giant Leap - BEING the Musictheta_sigmaFebruary 5 2006, 03:20:30 UTC
I think it was Ram Dass (and many more before him, I expect) who said something like: the trouble with Enlightenment is always the Ego; you climb to the highest peak of Enlightenment and you have got IT... and then you find your Ego standing there patting you on the back and saying "good job!"... and you've lost the Enlightenment...
Hey! I wonder if you know a movie called "1 Giant Leap"? I really recommend it to anyone of a spiritual bent. It is the most trippy, philosophical and uplifting movie I know of. It is available on DVD... I would really like to know what you think of it...
In the movie, there is a man talking about Enlightenment, and likening it to (you) being made of salt and dissolving into the ocean (Enlightenment). He makes the point that, if you do that, you cannot come back and tell anyone, really, what Enlightenment is like... This could be why we only ever hear from realms of Sound Bite wisdom... and the truest experiences of it are in the privacy of our own hearts...
