the second story really bothers me. it's a very relevant part of most african culture, and if the girl's brother wanted to stop her from the circumcision, it shouldn't be based on westerners trying to control the performance of a religious, right of passage ceremony. it's really none of our business to protest their rituals, especially in a country where male circumcision is just as common/accepted.
