Name: Born as Mihael Keehl. Answers to Mello and has no records of his original name.
Series/Fandom: Death Note.
Age: 18

Gender: Male
Sexuality: He considers himself bisexual because he's only had interest in two people, one of which he never spoke to after a few brief encounters, the other he called his lover and almost even a friend (though he's prideful and believes the second is his mutt, and therefore never openly admits this).

Student or Faculty Member/Professor: Student; freshman.
Major: Criminal Justice
Minor: Law

Residence: Apartment with his "mutt", Matt.
Occupation: now working at Spencer's!

Appearance:
Mello's actually an odd individual when it comes to dress. He's not too tall and appears rather thin, standing at 5'6" and weighing only 114 pounds, though he's not to be confused as lanky because he holds himself to a proud, almost snooty posture when he stands normally. He rarely slouches, though he does have a habit of curving his back in chairs or leaning forward, and sometimes holding things oddly, especially chocolate bars and their positioning to his mouth. His hair's a honey/golden blonde shade and, from its previously girly bob-cut, has been singed and frayed a bit to simple bangs and longer locks that barely swoop into a curl at the bottom. His eyes are a bold shade of green, though when narrowed into slits when he's feeling conniving or angry, they seem almost black.

Across the left side of his face, neck, and shoulder are raw, pink burns from an explosion. They zig-zag across his face from the middle of his forehead, down to the bridge of his nose, and sweep across his cheek to the side of his face. From there, they continue down his neck and a small bit sweeps to his chest and some to his back. He keeps his hair long to hide some of it, and has taken to wearing heavier attire to hide his wounds.

Normally, he wears skimpy attire, from tight black pants to boots to midriffs. Always, he has a rosary around his neck, which is red with a few white beads and a glimmering silver cross at the bottom. Though not deeply religious, he can't seem to part with it. He wears a baggy red coat with white fur lining in the hood most of the time now, to hide the burns and protect them from exposure to the sun, and to protect his identity as well when he's out. Though when he's normally feeling alright, he's prone to leather.

Personality:
Mello is a tricky sort. He's dark and conniving when he wishes to and he's very tricky. His main problem is that he's also egotistical and hates the idea of being beaten. He's very emotional when it comes to defeat or losing, and prone to tantrums when he can't get his way. He makes rash decisions when he's working just on his emotions and it makes him an unpredictable sort of person.

However, he does have some gentle side. It's not much, because Mello's always been the rough, bullying sort, but when he finds a fondness or understanding with a person, there's peace. It's only happened a few times, when he's talked with his rival and found common ground, and when he spends alone time with the person he fondly named his "puppy". He's not the cuddling, touchy-feely type of person either, but with his puppy, his only close friend, he finds himself enjoying the idea of staying close or even just using him as a pillow or chair.

He's not as "nice" when it comes to other people, unless they prove their intelligence or worth to him. He dislikes wasting time for no reason, especially when there's no way to benefit him with it, and will either insult others or challenge them into providing him entertainment or giving him vital information if necessary. He's very smart, as proven by where he was "raised", though the school might not have been the healthiest place for him, since it constantly made him focus on being "the best" and completely obsessing over something if he came in second. To this day, he hates considering himself second to ANYTHING and will either strive harder or get angry if he does.

He has a major obsession with chocolate bars. They must always be a specific brand, and in the same wrapper, or he eats them more angrily than he normally would. He normally choses chocolate over real food and sometimes mixes real food with chocolate to attempt to improve it. Many times, it fails, but he always thinks that his "Chocolate Flavored Ramen" is the best creation he's ever had.

History:
Try to remain slightly in-character when writing this, but you can be as creative with it as you'd like. Please provide at least 2 paragraphs.

Mello spent most of his life in an orphanage specializing in schooling gifted boys in the hopes of preparing them for a solid future wherever their lives would end up. He doesn't remember much about his life before the orphanage, but he does know his mom had long hair and that he was only around three when he was taken in. Behavioral problems and constant bullying and authority issues kept him in the orphanage, but he found no problems with that.

Obsessed with the idea of being "number one", and always challenging one boy whom he grew jealous over for making grades barely a point, if that, over his, had him constantly skipping meals and studying, and he found that he only cared for eating chocolate after a long while. He always ended up second, and after a while, grew completely fed up and left the orphanage on his own in the hopes of going somewhere.

He took the test for his GED, and other university-based scored tests and made extremely high grades on them, though he disliked where his choices led him. Because he was so young, he couldn't get a solid job and ended up working for the mafia, doing things he wasn't quite proud of to get in, but once he had arrived, he easily manipulated his way to the top. However, after a bust gone wrong, he ended up getting involved with fire-power and was trapped in an explosion which burned his face. It took him a while to attempt healing on his own, afraid police would get involved if they tried to find him, but, sure that the group he was with died in the fire, he decided it would be best if he tried to live life in a new direction, and applied for the University, calling up the old orphanage for an easy recommendation. Surprisingly, though probably because his record was still clean, he made it in and decided it would be best to not cause too much trouble, or at least, not until he was ready to fight back.
