Inarguable proof that Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends rules at life, cartoons, and everything:
God, I love this show :3 Look at Steve Buscemi! LOOK AT HIM. ADORABLE. Zach sent this to me earlier, assuring me that he still doesn't care for FHIM, but he agrees that this image totally rules. It also makes me want to draw, which is weird, but awesome.
So today started out pretty bad. It was all nasty and rainy outside when I left the house. I got almost to the light at the end of our street when I realized my car was driving funny, so I pulled into a parking lot. Lo and behold, my front passenger tire is completely flat. We're talking pancakes here.
So I risked driving on the rim to get to the gas station which is just a little way up the road to fill the tire, but when I got there, there was a quarter jammed in the air machine and it was unusable. SO. I went inside to tell them the problem, and waited in the rain for the girl to unjam the machine. THEN, it started raining harder and hailing a little, so I went to put up my hood, and like a bad, predictable cartoon, water that had collected there sloshed all over my head and FML, amirite?
When the girl couldn't fix the machine, I had to drive it across the street to the repair shop. The guy in there kind of ignores/dismisses me when I come in, which is annoying. I went in and told them the problem, and they were basically like, "We'll get to it whenever." So I called my dad and told him what was going on and he came to get me, and the guy told him they'd get to work on it ASAP! Are you fucking for real?
So now I'm waiting to hear whether or not I totally ruined my tire/rim, and I'm basically stuck at work dependent on rides from my dad today. Fun times.
Oh, also? I feel really terrible about this next bit. So it's been pretty sunny, clear, and comfortable here for the last few weeks, and there are happy little birds everywhere. A couple of weeks ago, a pretty lady robin decided to make a nest on the gutter right outside our apartment door. I'm talking about almost eye-level, right in my face as I walk out the door.
We tried to discourage her for a while. Her nest attempts were pretty miserable at best, and we swept the new nests down every day for about a full week. She would sit in the yard and watch us, probably plotting her revenge. After we tore the nest down for the fourth or fifth time, I got the bright idea to spray some bathroom cleaner with bleach on the spot. Maybe she would smell the bleach and not want to nest, or at the very least, the bleach would wash away her own scent and maybe she'd find a new place to nest. Nope.
We came home one day and there was the prettiest round little nest I've ever seen. She had been hard at work. I didn't have the heart to tear it down just then, and we let it go for another day.
The next day, I got home and I could see her sitting on the next, tail and head cocked in the air, probably laying eggs :\
When Zach got home, he picked up the nest and there was a gorgeous little blue egg in it :\ We didn't outright want to kill her baby, so he moved the nest in plain view out into the yard. As far as I know, she never found it.
The next day when I got off work, she was sitting on the gutter where her nest had been, looking all around. When I got up to her, I saw that she had laid another egg, but this one tumbled down the gutter and smashed on our concrete porch :c I think she's finally moved on now, but ugh I feel so bad...I just didn't want an angry mother bird trying to protect her babies in my face every day...I didn't want to ruin all of her hard work :\ I hope she's since found a better nesting spot than on our porch.
Work's been pretty crazy lately. These are our busy months, with our big arts festival coming up in a week and literally every family reunion coming in THIS WEEK. AT THE SAME TIME. It's like all these families have radar on each other or something and are conspiring against me. Not to mention the obscene amount of people who waited until this week to call us and ask about rush orders for their businesses because people around here apparently can't plan ahead. This happens literally every. single. year. Same people.
Anyway, I think that's all I have to bitch about today lol >_< <3<3<3
