“What?” I asked trying to act as if I didn’t know what he was talking about. I tried to keep my facial expression the same so as not to give anything away.
“Our experiment…he found his way here? I should’ve destroyed that…thing straight away…should’ve got rid and started on something else, but I was determined for it to work, to create the greatest weapon of all time.” My father replied pacing back and forth as he spoke to himself. I tried to control myself. I really did. But the way my father spoke about Gackt…
“He’s a human being, not an experiment!” I cried out. I knew I was wrong to speak out. My father turned to look at me. His eyes narrowed accusingly.
“Kamimura…tell me you didn’t free him.” I looked down, it was too late now, I’d given my secret away.
“He was…scared, and alone, he needed help.” I began.
“You’ve nearly cost me my job!” My father screamed. “I’ve been under all this stress because of you” he reached forward and grabbed me.
“Kami, you get out there and you find him, I don’t care how long it takes or what he does but you fucking find him now!” He pushed me back so hard I fell over and stormed out of the room. I knew I was going to have to find Gackt.
I wandered for what seemed to me like forever. I called out Gackt’s name I don’t know how many times. Who was I kidding? Why would Gackt even want to be near me? I had no idea where he could have gone. The town was all new to Gackt, he could take a long time to explore if he wanted to. I checked the place we had first been out together in, the shopping centre. I walked all over, asking in shops if people had seen Gackt.
“I see so many young guys with brown hair and blue eyes. Stop wasting my time.” Another dead end and the shop keepers seemed to be getting ruder. I made my way to a few other places but still no luck.
I’d been searching so long it was now dark. I was cold and hungry. I’d walked for what seemed like miles, travelled a number of busses and had taken myself to the outskirts of the town. Too tired to walk anymore I found a bus stop and waited for one to take me back home. It was on the bus, which went over a small bridge over a river that I saw Gackt. He was stood, staring out at the river and seemed to be lost in thought. Hurriedly I got off at the nearest bus stop and ran up to Gackt.
“Gackt, I’ve been looking for you all day.” I exclaimed. He looked at me with that same hatred he had looked at me with the first time we met. It saddened me to see him like that, especially seeing as we had made progress since then.
“I’m sorry.” I said, bowing my head. I needed to show him that I cared about him.
“Why did you come here?” He asked me in a low tone.
“I was worried about you.” I answered honestly.
“Why?” He replied demandingly.
“Because…” I didn’t get chance to finish the sentence.
“Kami my boy you found him.” My father and four army trucks appeared behind me. Soldiers piled out of the back of the trucks and all gathered around Gackt, pointing guns at him.
“Thanks for all your help.” My father smiled, placing his arm around me.
“You’re working with them?” Gackt asked. The pain in is eyes still haunts me now.
“No…I…”
With a determined look on his face he got up on the side of the bridge, facing the edge.
“Gackt stop!” I cried.
“Let him.” My father smirked. “At least if he’s dead he can’t cause us any more problems.”
“Father I’m in love with him!” The whole area went silent. The number of pairs of eyes that were fixed on me made me feel the most uncomfortable id ever been in my entire life, but if it saved Gackt’s life I didn’t care. My father grabbed me roughly by the shoulder.
“You can’t be serious Kami.” He said dangerously, looking at me straight in the eye.
“I can and I am. That’s why I helped him father, that’s why I let him stay in our house…and it’s why I came looking for him today.”
Gackt was looking at me with a curious expression on his face. I looked up and our eyes met. Slowly, he got down off the edge and began walking slowly in my direction. I shook myself from my father’s grasp and walked to meet Gackt. Before I knew it, Gackt’s arms were wrapped around me, almost desperately I held him too, I hoped that maybe my father would understand.
