i would enjoy johnny's crotch in my face too. but despite all the fannishness that was taking the place over, i actually enjoyed the crowd- last time i saw them was when they opened for against me! and no one cared about them at all. it was so sad.
i hate the 9:30 club...i dont like the black cat either though. i'm hard pressed to decide which one i like better. the warehouse! :D
yeah, there were some girls behind me who knew alllllllll the words and i was like, that's great, i'm glad you like them so much. but then i realized i'd rather have people really into it than not into it at all, so it stopped bothering me.
i'm not sure why i hate 9:30...it just bothers me. i think it's mostly because when a band plays there vs. the black cat, the ticket price automatically goes up like ten bucks at least. the warehouse is sweet. it's on 7th between K and L (i think, or at least right around there). i also like DC9, which is right across U st from 9:30. i don't know most of the bands that go to those places though.
I know exactly what you mean. Right after Hot Hot Heat played at 930 Club they came back for another US tour and ended up playing at bigger venues and didn't come back. Unlike at the Black Cat where I remember them saying something about how the Blood Brothers had been there before. I'll have to check out the Warehous and DC9 sometime.

I mean the crowd was reasonable,
spite the collection of screaming girls behind me.
Why do you hate 930, if you don't mind me asking?
I've heard of the Warehouse but never been...where is it?
