Isn't it so interesting how some of our personality traits and artistic inclinations are genetically encoded? I never really thought that was so much the case before having kids, thinking it was more nuture than nature. Are your parents musicians too?
Magda loves nothing more than coloring and painting. It's a good reminder that I need to find time for my art. She's obsessed with books too, making her totally my kid!
I wonder if it's a combination of nature and nurture; like, perhaps there's a bit more raw talent there, but also an inclination in the parent to notice and foster the talent.
Both my parents are scientists, but my mom has played piano all her life and taught children's choir after she retired from chemical software engineering. My dad isn't artistic so much as good at making things with his hands. They always encouraged me in any and all artistic endeavors though.
