should marijuana be legalized?

I spent four hours tonight watching "Illegal Drugs and How they got that way" on the history channel, and when the episode of marijuana came on, out of the information i got from this tv show was that "pot" was a good thing when it was used, relieved aches, used by cancer patients to cure loss of apitite, and is great for women on their periods

I really think that smoking should be illegal, and pot legal. I wish I never touched a cigarette, they do NOTHING at all good, while weed is so harmless and fun. I love weed.

i have never smoked weed, and i probably never will -- it just doesn't appeal to me. however, i think it is ridiculous that alcohol is legal for people over 21 when it is those intoxicated people that kill thousands every year via accidents or whatever else. i'm not saying alcohol should be banned once again, either, but i just think the government has no real reason for this 'war on drugs' except that they want to be able to control the hidden economy as well. marijuana isn't necessarily 'good' for you, but it doesn't do anything worse (if used in moderation) to you than other legalized drugs (like cigarettes or alcohol). i am 100% for the legalization of marijuana.

that is what i meant "in moderation" but it is good for you if you think of whatelse they have in cigaretts, there is not rat poison in it.
